Herbalist

lauren giambrone practices western herbal medicine with a harm reductionist approach, and wildcrafts or cultivates nearly all of the herbal medicine in her apothecary. she completed an apprenticeship at the Northeast School of Botanical Medicine (Ithaca, NY) in 2008, which included interning as an herbal assistant at the Ithaca Free Clinic, engaging in the powerful intersections of alternative and conventional care practices. lauren has also assisted an acupuncturist & herbalist in clinical practice and worked in harm reduction, and continues giving consults in her community. lauren has also been organizing with the Rock Dove Collective, a community health access network, for the past 4 years. lauren believes strongly in the importance of self care and the role herbal medicine plays there, and in creating more just access to health services for all people regardless of race, class or gender identity. she practices without judgment or prejudice, and is committed to doing her part to dismantle systems of oppression where she encounters them, while standing in solidarity with those doing battle with the same systems. she believes that bartering and engaging in mutual aid exchanges for health services is one way to shift the paradigm and redefine what it really means to take care of one another.
