Survey with waiting patient
This patient has been coming to the clinic for some time. She was not immediately greeted but wasn't upset by this. For the most part her interactions with the staff have been very positive, and described them as friendly, respectful and patient, though occasionally there are miscommunications due to language barriers. (The interviewee spoke Korean but no Mandarin or Cantonese and suspected that it would be far better if she did). So far this patient has had no complaints about the quality of medical care save for some miscommunication.
General Reception/Clinic Impressions
This space was quite large, clean, relaxing and comfortable. There were 5-7 seemingly lively and happy people waiting at the time of this survey, with an average wait time of 20-30 minutes. The staff seemed very friendly, almost all were Chinese and it seemed likely that all services were available bilingually. The staff was friendly but felt that they could not answer many of the questions asked by our volunteers.
On a scale from 1-10, the patient rated the clinic as the following:
a) speed of service - 6
b) easy access - 10
c) respectfulness - 8
d) comfort - 7
e) quality of care - 7
f) cost/ease of payment method - 7
g) openness to alternative medicine -
h) understanding of people from my background - 6
i) understanding of/respect for my politics - 7

Appointments are encouraged, but walk-ins are sometimes taken on the same day, and are triaged according to urgency. The waiting list for an initial appointment was 1-1.5 months at the time of this survey, but urgent cases may be seen sooner. The average appointment time is 15-20 minutes, sometimes as long as thirty minutes. Nurses are available for consultation by telephone; on off-hours doctors are available via telephone service in case of emergency.
Sliding Scale determined by income and family size.
