ALGAP is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing counseling and therapy that is:

Affirming - ALGAP therapists are interested in and committed to working with gay and lesbian clients. Most of our therapists are gay or lesbian and bring a personal understanding of gay/les/bi/tran issues to their work with you.

High Quality - All ALGAP therapists are screened and selected by our Clinical Advisory Board for their experience and sensitivity in working with gay/les/bi/tran clients. At ALGAP you can have an uninterrupted relationship with your therapist throughout the course of treatment, unlike some clinics where you may have to change therapists over time.

Accessible - ALGAP is a network of therapists in private practice with a variety of styles and approaches. Our therapists are eligible for reimbursement by those point-of-service insurance plans that require licensure. Fees for those clients who are uninsured or who have limited coverage are set on a sliding scale, based on the therapist's assessment of the client's ability to pay. Every effort is made to match clients with therapists whose style and expertise meet the needs to the client.

After a phone screening, you will be matched with a therapist whose experience and style works for you. Most referrals are made within 24 hours of your first call.
