Social Worker

Kristin is a social worker whose fields of practice are mental health, substance use, and homelessness. She has practiced social work for the past two years, and her experience includes street, harm reduction, transitional, and shelter settings. Ms. Simpson also is a spoken word artist who believes in the healing power of creative expression.

Kristin is a licensed social worker and has her MSW from Columbia University where she specialized in Contemporary Social Issues.

Kristin provides strengths-based counseling. Areas of expertise include mental health, trauma, substance abuse (from a harm reduction approach), and homelessness. She is comfortable working with diverse populations, including the LGBT community. She is open to using spirituality to aid in the healing process as well as the arts. She can do short-term or long-term.
